About Softnik Technologies
Softnik Technologies is a privately held technology company, incorporated in 2001 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. We specialize in domain name–related asset management software, building practical tools that help users research, track, and manage domain portfolios efficiently.
We remain a small, focused company by design and are not currently aiming to grow into a large organization. Our priority is to build dependable software and maintain long-term relationships with our users rather than pursue rapid expansion.
Our Origins
The origins of Softnik Technologies date back to the late 1990s, prior to formal incorporation. During this time, early domain-focused software tools were developed to address the growing complexity of managing internet domain names.
In December 1999, an early utility called Domain Name Analyzer was released publicly and saw wide adoption among individual users and domain name enthusiasts. These early tools were primarily used by individuals, domain name investors, and small companies, establishing a strong foundation in the domain management space.
As these products matured, they evolved into what is now DomainPunch.com, a dedicated platform focused on domain research, monitoring, and domain portfolio workflows. DomainPunch continues to be a core product under Softnik Technologies.
Growth Into Enterprise Use
With the introduction of server and corporate editions, adoption expanded beyond individual users and small organizations. Larger companies and corporate environments began using our software to manage domain assets at scale.
The corporate editions were designed specifically to fit into in-house development and IT environments, rather than forcing organizations to adapt to rigid, one-size-fits-all tools. These editions support multiple database backends and provide application-level APIs to enable integration with internal systems and workflows. This approach allows organizations to integrate our domain management tools directly into their internal processes while maintaining full control over their data.
